TOPIC: A love story: The Prophet (saw) first love, our first mother
Mufti Abdul Wajid
Abdul Wajid was born in Chicago, IL. At the age of 11, he memorized the Quran at the Darul Uloom in Buffalo, New York. Upon completion of the Quran, Abdul Wajid started his pursuit of Islamic knowledge. He spent 7 years, he completed his hadith studies under prominent scholars of fiqh and hadith, under the traditional curriculum of Islamic education. He went on to do his master’s in Islamic law, minoring in islamic finance and becoming certified to issue fatawa.
Immediately after graduation he landed his first job in Saint Louis, serving as an Imam and youth director. 5 years later he landed a bigger position as the resident Scholar of the Islamic center of Pittsburgh, recently leaving that after 4 years to be closer to family. His specialties include Fiqh, islamic finance, tafseer, interfaith dialogue and dealing with youth. He has done over 100 youth events/workshops dealing with a wide range of topics across the country.
He also has interests in Islamic poetry,humour and sports.
He is currently the director of fund development and teacher of Qira’at (different modes of recitation) at Jamia Islamia in Detroit.
