Did you have a favorite book as a child? A lot of kids these days don’t. “According to government reports, low income neighborhoods in the US only have an average of 1 age appropriate book for every 300 children.” That means most low income kids don’t have a favorite book because they don’t have any books at all.
The Interact Club at Centerville High School is organizing a book drive at DMS until Nov 2nd. Donate new or gently used books from grade K-12. The book drive is set up to provide kids in impoverished areas with books to read even if they can’t afford to buy them. Donation boxes are set up at both entrances of the masjid. Please join this effort and give the gift of reading!
