“Doing service for humanity is one of the greatest ways we can show our devotion to Allah. All of the revealed scriptures place great emphasis on helping others…. In Islam, helping others and allows us to earn Allah’s eternal reward in the Hereafter.” (Islam Today)
We just found out that there are 5 Syrian refugee families in Cincinnati that are in need of the following, to help families get independent as fast as possible:
A. Five new cars, one of them has to be a van for a family of 8. One of the cars need to be handicap equipped – the man is paralyzed
We have 2 options here:
1- money for a cars fund – a cheap reliable car averages $3000 including tax and registration, etc.
2- donate your own old vehicle (tax-deductible)
For Dayton, anyone interested in donating is encouraged to make a check out to DMS; for Springfield, checks are to be made out to MVIA. These two community mosques will then write a check out to SAF for the car fund. This way, we will work with individual communities through their respective mosques.
B. Five TVs
C. Kitchenware is also needed for 2 families urgently. Cups, plates, silverware, pots and pans, Pyrex sets, etc.
Please, this is the time for us to step up and show that we care. If anyone wants to help, please message us on Facebook. For Dayton, contact Tahera Khanzada, Saira Arif, Mehreen Raja or Kaukab. For Springfield, contact Farhana Rauf or Mariam Khan.
Thanks and JAK,
